MAR3001 Consumer Behaviour Learning Journal #10

We started the last session of class today directly with the group presentations. I enjoyed listening to the presentations, especially how differently we understood the tasks assigned to us. It was increasingly surprising to me how influencers these days are honest about how unrealistic things can be and can advise you to not do the same, like Noel the body builder or ‘not a natural body builder’ as he calls himself. I do think that these type of honesty is raw and this is something so refreshing to see, especially when the influencer is promoting a lifestyle as such. 

I personally think that my understanding of how theory can be applied to practical matters have gained exponentially through this class as we have trials and errors in acknowledging what theory applies to what influencer tactics. Most of them are intuitive as we can easily connect such as the opinion leadership theory. Everyone can relate that we follow people who we see our values in life in or just purely find interesting. Simply put, we are merely mosaics of people we know and respect. 

 

At the end of the class, we did not have enough time for the last case study so the professor went straight into reviewing what we would have for our final exams. The exams will be heavily based on theory which I am definitely looking forward to apply in practicality. In my opinion, I do think this would continually help me understand the theoretical aspect of situations that can be directly applied to reality. It is also very useful as I am interested in marketing and how consumer behavior can be altered or changed in a way that the consumer themselves, at times, do not seem to notice. This is fundamentally intriguing to understand the nature of psychology behind and the statistics and theory of consumer behavior, all of which are vital in business studies.

MAN2002 Family Business Management Session #9 and #10

In today’s last sessions, we started off with the presentations and each respective groups received feedbacks and were asked questions afterwards.  Later on, we were introduced to the roles and interests in a family business.  The roles of the business  indicate  the role of the family member or non-family member that works for the company. The description of the roles dictates their duties and  responsibilities   that contributes to the said company.  And lastly, the primary interest corresponds with  their respective roles and their reason for working within the company. MAR3001 Consumer Behaviour Learning Journal #4

As per usual, the class started with a review of the previous class learnings of theories, models and the case study. After much discussion of the previous case study, we went forward with a new case study of Vodafone in Egypt. It was interesting to see and analyse how Vodafone penetrated into Egypt through mergers and acquisitions as well as through venture capitalist.
